Is time running out for Tokio Hotel? Is the German rock band sensation falling apart? That is the believe of Pop-titan Dieter Bohlen – and with a recent interview he makes the blood boil of the many Tokio Hotel fans….
Happiness, madness, mega-hits – since two years Tokio hotel takes our breath away. There hasn’t ever been so much hype about a band before as with the mega band from Magdeburg.
Bill, Tom, Georg and Gustav keep a whole generation of teens in there grip, won countless awards, 2 big tours and got to the highest positions in the charts. A dream career! Is that all gonna be over now? At least pop-titan Dieter Bohlen sees the Tokio hotel star falling down. In a “Spiegel†interview he says: “When a band like Tokio Hotel exists for 2 or 3 years you can be pretty happyâ€. Already 2 years have passed. In more of his words: â€It is going down hill with Tokio Hotel!†a statement that pisses of the many fans from Bill & co.
Still, he isn’t that wrong after all. The truth is: The hype around Tokio Hotel is over, hysteria has calmed down and the fan base grown smaller. The boys are still on the covers of magazines. A normal process, because who falls for a band at the age of 14 thinks it is painful at the age of 16. Many fans are turning there back on Tokio Hotel. The tiredness around Tokio Hotel has it’s effect in the charts. The second album Zimmer 483 stays behind on expectations. Both singles: Übers ende der welt and Spring nicht only stay 2 weeks in the top 10. For the super band that is used to many followers a hard wake up call. The boys notice that the big hype around them is almost over and they search there ways in other country’s. The Germans better get ready for this in the next few months: no interviews, no pictures, a few appearances. The new single will be released in the fall. Bill & co know: They will then have to make a fight for it…
